One of the most famous symbols of the Island of Ischia is the Lacco Ameno Mushroom, a ten-meter-high green tuff rock that emerges from the water, whose shape resembles that of a mushroom.
The tuffaceous block probably formed following one of the numerous volcanic eruptions of Mount Epomeo.
The detaching rock ended up in the sea, the sea water and the wind have given the shape of a mushroom over time.
